Happy Saturday! Allen is finished with his finals and we are officially 1/2 done with law school!!!!!!!!! There are smiles all around now, a lightening of spirit, and much rejoicing can be heard in the house. Well, not so much right now, as the kids are in bed, but still! It's been a rough 2 finals weeks. Allen was gone from about 8:30 am to around 9pm. The kids and I really missed him, but we tried to be understanding.
We had a great day! The Delvins invited us to go with them to the Lied Children's Discovery Museum. It was so much fun. All three little ones had a blast exploring things. When I asked Riley later what his favorite part was, he told me he like going grocery shopping best. He went and did that twice. One of my favorite parts was watching the kids put on a show. It was so cute! Riley dressed as an elephant, Weldon as a firefighter, and Emma dressed as kinda a princess.
They had SO much fun jumping off the stage! They were pretending to put out a fire, Riley was using his trunk to help his friend the firefighter.
I loved how Riley danced with his little sister, it was so sweet.
Riley was obsessed with the water exhibit. You could use these little plastic walls to change the current and flow of the water. It took us lots of persuasion to get him to go on to the next exhibit.
They loved getting the water to take the plastic pieces away. Riley loves water, and playing with currents.
I love Emma's face in this picture, she so intense. She really like the water exhibit too.
It's hard to see, but Emma is laughing her head off. This is a pulley system where you can lift your own body. Emma thought it was great fun to have Daddy lift her up.
I wish this picture was a little clearer. They are playing with clay. It amazes me how much they look alike. Riley was so sweet, he gave his sister a piece of his clay. He's been watching my mom do some pottery. He grabbed the sponge and wet down his clay before he started to mold it.
We played post office. Emmaline would give Riley the packages, and he would have to sort them to where Allen told him to put them. They really enjoyed this game.
The last thing we did was play in the grocery store. This was our second go around at the store. I wish this picture was in focus, but you get the idea, he LOVED it! These are the groceries that Riley picked out.
Then we had to stand in line to "buy" our groceries with the money we made being postmen.
We also went to the Gift of Lights at Sunset Park. The kids had a blast. As we were pulling in, one of the volunteers gave us reindeer antlers for the kids. We let the kids out of their seats so they could see better. I think Riley was pleased...
I'd never done the drive. . It was so beautiful to see all the lights and listen to Christmas music. I'm so glad we made the effort, on such a cold and windy night!

Great place to visit isn't it? We stayed there at the museum for hours last time. It was tons of fun for all the kids. Brooklyn loved being in the little people room and getting to roam a bit. Congratulations to everyone for making it halfway through. Alan is doing great and so are you and the kids. It's a sacrifice and investment all around, for sure. Give yourselves a round of applause. You ALL deserve it!!
