My grandparents work in the Denver temple every Friday. I find this amazing. Grandpa is 80 and they drive over 2 hours to get there! On the last Friday that we were there, I asked if I could get some pictures with them. They turned out so cute! Seriously, Grandpa has his arm around Grandma’s waist! Too sweet!
My kids just love Grandma and Grandpa McBride! Grandpa said often during our trip that Emma was the cutest thing he’s seen in a long time. She is cute, and she know it!
The historian in me couldn’t pass up a chance to get a 4 generation picture. ![]()
After Grandma and Grandpa left, we packed the kids up in the van and took a scenic drive up to Cripple Creek. Allen laughed that the whole state is a scenic byway, but this was a ton of fun.
As we drove we stopped and did a little geocaching. So fun, I even found one!
We saw a couple of AMAZING bridges and tunnels on the way up. But for me the highlight was walking accross this amazing wood bridge:
The reason we went up to Cripple Creek was to ride the train. It was so fun! Riley got to blow the whistle afterward. He was so excited! If fact, he was so excited he tripped and fell on the way back to us. We enjoyed a dinner at one of the casinos (yes, casinos… the draw from most to come) and watched a little thunder bumper roll through. It was such a fun trip! Thanks Mom for coming along on our adventure!
