My Family

I love my family! It was so fun to have my sister and her family around for New Years. Every year my mom insists that we take a new picture around January 1st. It’s her Christmas present. I really don’t mind, she’s one of my biggest supporters. So, on January 1st we headed out to Calico basin for a family picture. It was REALLY COLD! But the pictures turned out really good. Hope everyone enjoys:

Next I grab the Murdocks (Demya, Benson and Rolie):

About 2 seconds after this picture was taken, Roland jumped up and clocked Benson in the neck! Freedom! And that little imp ran right into the puddle!

Then of course we had to have Grandkids with Grandma and Grandpa:

Project 365

So, new year… hmm, this is try two of Project 365.  Check out the new pictures, they are cute. ‘Cause of course my kids are.

My Picture Book

Nursery No More- 2011 edition

I’m so far behind! Oh, well. This couldn’t keep. I’ll try to post some of what happened at Christmas but for now this will do. Emma graduated from nursery. She is now a sunbeam.  So, keeping with tradition:

They gave the little ones a Book of Mormon and a cute certificate. I couldn’t be there but Allen and Beka made it:

DSCN1974Riley moved up to CTR 5. He is so excited about having Emma join him in Primary. It’s fun. He looked very handsome in his new suit:

What’s amazing to me is how fast time is going,! Beka will be joining the ranks of the nursery in about 3 months. (Daddy’s a little sad, he’ll miss his little buddy).

Crazy kids

Today I had a shot photo shoot with my little niece. She is one of my toughest customers… But I think we got a few good ones. However, it was really funny getting the studio set up with my kids… They are nuts! But my new lens is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!!!!! So, exciting!

Riley just had to make sure the tree was just right! Emma was supposed to be my model as I set up the light… she was being really silly today!

Here’s something fun that I did this week:

First year picture collages of the girls. I have to scan in Riley’s pictures, but I think I’ll make him one to0. I want to print them and put them up on the wall somewhere. Hope everyone’s holidays are going well.

Feeling Seriously Lame

Ok, so I am so lame about keeping up with the blog! I do apologize, it’s been kinda crazy busy for me!  At the beginning of September, I decided I wanted to get 7 or 8 holiday photo shoots. My sweet photo buddy Erin was doing it and it seemed like a fun idea. Make a little money for the holidays and such. I picked out the dates and sent it out on facebook (love facebook). And then I waited… and waited… and got a booking… and waited. I figured, ok it’s just October. So then November came and I had a few bookings. Now that it is December, I’m surprised to say: I’ve hit my goal. HUH? People will pay me to take their picture? Weird.

So, added to the teaching, preparing for the ward Christmas party, and such I am so tired at the end of the day to post anything. However, I’m going to try to put something up now.

October was busy. We found out that:

 ALLEN PASSED THE BAR.

We could just yell from the roof tops! Yeah Allen. Dad Leavitt and I went with him to get sworn in:

We celebrated with Allen’s study group, the penguin law society, with a fun dinner.

This is super late in coming but cognates guys!

The only other thing that I haven’t posted about in Oct was the fun day up to see the fall leaves that we took. It was beautiful!

I’ll try to do better on keeping up… but I’m making NO PROMISES… it’s that time of the year!

Just a hodgepodge of pictures from September

Ok, so I have all these cute pictures from September that I was going to post cute stories about. But now it is November, and the time is just getting away from me. So, without much storyline, here goes some cute pictures:

IMG_7474 Not the greatest composition pictures I’ve ever taken, but one of the sweetest smiles I’ve ever captured from Faith!

IMG_7253 I called this picture: Beka vs the Apple. Believe it or not, with just 2 teeth she made quite the dent.

IMG_7250 I told Emma that she had to drink her drink at the table…

Our ward primary took a temple trip.  I took Emma and Beka too. Emma was amazingly reverent! These are some of the cute pictures I took that day.

Emma got a tea set for her birthday. It’s one of her favorite things. She LOVES to have tea parties. I caught the first one without anyone knowing I was lurking about. Yeah, the last one… I was an unwelcome guest in Emma’s book.

I love how kind hearted Riley is. He’s always looking out for the little kids. We went to our cousin Weldon’s birthday party. This is Weldon’s cousin Austin. Riley was making sure he got a turn on the slip and slide.

Here are some more fun pictures from the party:

Riley liked the pool as long as he wasn’t getting toasted off his raft.

Finally, Emma’s birthday. We eat her favorite food: Mac and Cheese with hotdogs, plain potato chips and juice. And a strawberry cake with ice cream. We gave her a princess dress which she LOVES!

So there you have it. September’s hodgepodge of pictures…

Halloween

Ok so for something a more current than the last post! We had an eventful Halloween week. We went to the pumpkin patch, Riley’s class party, 2 trunker treats, a ward party and visited with grandparents. We have SO much candy it’s gross. We had been looking for costumes for a month, trying to figure out what the kids would be. I was in Target looking at the costume. Emma wanted to be a princess (no bigger right since her birthday had just pasted and she had a ton of stuff). Riley however didn’t know what he wanted. I had planned on putting Beka into whatever costume fit her. Well, I saw this super cute Tinker Bell costume and showed it to her. Beka got super excited, and cried when I put it back on the rack. Hmmm, well ok. The picture on the front of the costume looked just like her. So I got it. Long story short, the kids went as Peter Pan this year.  Riley was Peter, Emma was Wendy and Beka was Tinker Bell. It was so cute!

At the beginning of the week Allen and I took the little girls to the pumpkin patch. We met up with Erin. It was fun. The girls loved picking out their own pumpkins:

The next day  was Riley’s class party. They trickier-treated the school. It was really fun, they went a bunch of class rooms and got candy from the teachers and high school students. I was so happy I got to go to it.2 by2 collage Finally, we went to our truncker treats! The kids look so adorable in their costumes! I couldn’t find a Wendy costume for Emma so I made on. I think it turned out GREAT! Yeah!halloween

The kids had a blast at both trunker treats. We got tons of candy! The stake one was huge and so much fun! The kids loved their costumes. And I am very relieved that Halloween is done!

Emma’s Birthday

So I’m so behind! It’s been a CRAZY couple of months. So, in order to kinda caught up, I’m going to try to do an older happening with a newer happening. That way, maybe I’ll meet somewhere in the middle!

Anyway, Emma turn 3 in September. Emma is all girl! For her birthday she wanted to do a princess themed party, but she wanted to invite a couple of boys from her nursery class. So we did a princess and knight party. It turned out really well. We had a great turn out.

As each child came, we had a box of dress up clothes for them to pick out. Each girl got a crown, a pair of gloves, a little skirt  and a some shoes. Each boy got a helmet, shield, and sward.  Then I took them back to my studio and took a picture in their cute garb.pictures 9Then we sent the kids outside for a sandbox treasure hunt and to catch the dragon (for the boys).

IMG_7427 IMG_7429

We then had a fun princess piñata which was stuffed with candy. The kids had blast diving for it!

IMG_7441

After the piñata, we had lunch for the kids. We had heart and star shaped jelly sandwiches, fruit and I made cherry 7 up using frozen cherries. It was beautiful! And it tasted great!

IMG_7443

Emma got a ton of presents. She has enjoyed them all! We opened a few of them but decided not to open all of them (other little girls were getting jealous)

IMG_7449 Emma wants to thank everyone who made her day so special!

Happy birthday Princess Emmaline!
