Nevada Day 2013

This week has been a little nuts! Riley and Emma had 3 days off of school: Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Weird, huh? Tuesday was for parent teacher conferences and Friday was "Nevada Day".  When we moved to Las Vegas, I thought it was really cool that we got Halloween off every year for Nevada's birthday. Sadly, a couple of years ago the voters decided they wanted the last Friday of October off instead.

Anyway, some of the noteworthy events of this week:

Emma lost her first tooth!!! She was so excited. She lost it Wednesday after school.

She got a dollar from the tooth fairy. It was kind of funny, she came into our room in tears because the tooth fairy brought her a dollar bill and not coins! Crazy kid!

Friday I took the kids to Spring Mountain Ranch. I hadn't been out there since Riley was Ephram's age. It was a blast! The kids all brought their own backpacks with their leftover lunches. They did this all on their own. Good thing too, by the time we left everyone was SOOOO hungry

The kids had seen a picture of Riley with this statue... They insisted that I take one with them! It was funny.
We enjoyed walking through the house. The kids really liked the artifacts. The house reminded me of my Grandma Peterson's house.

We took the two walks. First the one was called the Ash Grove. So pretty!

Had to get at least one of me! Thanks Riley.

Best sister EVER! Of course two seconds after I took this picture, Ephram jump/slipped off the bench.

Ephram REALLY didn't like getting put into the backpack. Once we got going he was fine.

Beka and Riley climbed on top of a huge log. "Mommy! Take my picture!!!" How can I resist?

This is such a beautiful place! I was in love with all the colors and amazing light!

The leaves were so pretty and the kids were so good. There was a Civil War reenactment getting set up while we were there. The costumes were really beautiful. We walked all over. We even hiked up to the overlook. It was a wonderful day!
